India Insurance Online Marketing Report 2025-26

Digital Marketing Maturity Score — All Lines

This is the flagship intelligence chart of the hub report. It scores significant Indian insurance brands across five digital marketing dimensions — Organic Search, Paid Search, Social Media, Conversion Infrastructure, and AI Readiness — to show who is truly winning digitally, who is selectively investing, and who still remains structurally offline despite commanding large premium share.
Premium size cannot hide digital weakness.
The brands collecting the most premium — LIC, Star Health, New India Assurance — do not score like digital leaders. Meanwhile the brands scoring highest — PolicyBazaar, ICICI Lombard, HDFC Life — often control far less premium, but they win where digital discovery and comparison decisions are actually made.
PolicyBazaar score
94 / 100
Tier 1 benchmark and the only brand in the 90s.
Best insurer score
78 / 100
ICICI Lombard is the highest-scoring insurer in the set.
Average insurer score
58 / 100
Most insurers cluster below true digital leadership.
PSU average score
22 / 100
Large offline brands remain structurally weak online.

Panel 4

The single biggest gap: paid search absences

This is the cleanest operational gap in the dataset. Several high-premium brands simply do not show up in paid search with enough force — or at all.
Revenue at risk
Star Health
₹15,400 cr retail health
0 paid search
New India Assurance
₹14,500 cr group health
0 paid search
United India Insurance
Large group health book
0 paid search
LIC
₹3.97L cr life premium
Minimal paid
Bajaj Allianz (general view)
2M–4M organic / no health paid
0 / minimal paid
What this means: paid search is the easiest score to improve tactically, but also the clearest sign of strategic neglect. Star Health alone loses 20 possible points here, which is the difference between a Tier 3 and a Tier 2 profile.
Panel 3

Market share vs digital maturity

X-axis = Digital Maturity Score. Y-axis = approximate premium share of the brand’s line. Bubble size = premium scale. This is the visual proof that market share and digital maturity are uncorrelated.
